At elementary school age she graduated from finger-paint to paint with water books, drawing images from clouds and her most favorite of all, coloring with her beloved big box of crayons with the built in sharpener. She found her deep love for art in her high school art classes and new then she wanted to be an artist.
Saundra was born and raised in Tennessee where she grew up on a tobacco farm where she was inspired by beauty in nature. She pursued her dream of art by studying at Lincoln Memorial University in the Visual
Arts Program, plus additional night classes in oil painting. She earned scholarship with the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee where she studied linocut printmaking and pastel. She
graduated from the Fine Art Mastery Program with Milan Art Institute. Her work has been displayed in private collections and public showings in the United States and Canada. Saundra currently resides in Canada where she enjoys traveling to many wonderful places for photographing source material to bring to her studio.
Saundra says, “Painting is like breathing to me”. She spends the majority of her time developing her style in her home studio. It is her passion to create beauty from the mundane and bringing light and beauty into a dark world while encouraging others to follow their own dreams. Her paintings are described as abstract realism. Through her brushstrokes she inspires light and beauty invoking love and hope.
